the archipelago collective is a transnational group of writers and artists working towards a common goal: we want to reimagine this world, redraw the lines on the map, and forge meaningful relationships between creative people and their communities.
We stand firmly against the ongoing violences of colonialism, racism and all forms of discrimination and exploitation.
Our collective is a home for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) creatives. We believe that by joining together we can deepen our personal creative work and make change for our respective communities.
We welcome writers, artists and creatives who share our values and want to take an active role in our community to apply below.
A collective is made strong by taking action together, and so we ask that you take some time to think of what you would like to contribute to our collective.
Some examples are:
- to start a group within our community eg a writers group in your city, or online
- to help us make relationships between peoples, places and languages that we have not yet reached
- to create a collaborative writing project
Think of a specific project that you would love to do in collaboration with other creatives. There is nothing too big or too small. We want to hear about your passions and what you would like to do as a member of our collective
Please note that we are open to all peoples working in any language. You do NOT need to know English to apply. If you would like to share this sign up with a community in another language and can help with translation, please email us at info@thearchipelago.org
There is no minimum requirement for level of experience. We welcome creative people at all stages of their practice to apply. Our current members range from published authors to new writers and artists who are just getting started. We are more interested in what you care about and what you want to do now.
