Each of us living in America today has a unique story to tell about our origins, our families, our lives, passions, and dreams, and who we are as individuals. Together, our American stories form a powerful narrative about this land, our nation, and who we are as a people as we approach our 250th year as a nation. Area high school students (ages 16-17 with parent permission), college students, and adults are invited to participate.

Our Roots, Our Voices is a free, nonpartisan, nonsectarian civic event hosted by local area volunteers to provide a platform for people from all walks of life to share their stories. Open to the public with no admission charge, stories will be presented over 25+ hours from 5:00pm on November 7 to 6:05pm on November 8, 2025 in the accessible Fellowship Hall at Center Church, 1 Church Street, South Hadley, Massachusetts.

GUIDELINES: The Our Roots, Our Voices Guidelines are simple and apply to all participants and audience members.

1. Please dress and act respectfully, and with consideration for others.
2. No clothing such as T-shirts or hats with issue or candidate messages should be worn.
3. These are our stories, and should reflect the lives and personal histories of each participant.
4. No politicking or advocacy on behalf of specific candidates or political positions, please.
5. Should my schedule change or I am unable to participate after signing up, I will let you know.
6. The event is open to the public during all hours. Stories may be recorded and photographs taken.


IMAGE RELEASE: There may be some event follow-up through posts on our website, newsletters, or other materials commemorating Our Roots, Our Voices as part of our nation's historic 250th anniversary. Please use the checkboxes below to let us know if you prefer images of you to be included, or not.
