Countering the Chaos: Mental and Emotional Strength Training (MEST) to Meet This Political Moment
Join us from 7:30-9pm for this interactive Zoom workshop featuring a blend of mental health professionals, clergy, and wellness instructors who will present different philosophies and practical strategies to address and inoculate against the emotional assaults hitting us in this political moment. And, help us reclaim our political agency and ability to resist.
Why should you/those you know participate?
- Effective political action requires sound mental and physical health.
- Trump's Shock and Awe blitzkrieg is designed to undermine both.
- Just like political and civil rights activists in past crises, we must be intentional in protecting and strengthening our mental and emotional well-being, skills, and resilience. We need to not only survive in this political climate but succeed in our opposition.
- It’ll help you feel better - One of the people in the inaugural session a month ago shared she hadn’t slept in weeks, but after this session, was able to have a good night’s sleep. Others appreciated some of the simple practices and philosophies and had already started incorporating them in their daily lives.
This specific MEST session is for people who identify as female only.
Questions? Let us know. We'll send the Zoom link a couple days in advance of the session, along with additional information for participating in the session.
Note: For our collective security and community building - the sessions will not be recorded, we will not use the AI notetaker, and people will be asked to keep their video on as much as possible.
See you soon!
