Chippewa Valley Youth Chorus - Fall 2019
What is the Chippewa Valley Youth Chorus?

The CVYC is a unique opportunity for children to have fun, make friends, develop their musical skills, and share music with our community. Boys and girls in 2nd through 6th grade are invited to participate, no audition required.

We have two great announcements to share. First, Liz Ahrens, director of the choir last year, has given birth to a happy and healthy little girl named Ruby! Second, we are excited to welcome Tammie Delveaux as the new director starting this fall.

Tammie Delveaux has been directing children’s choirs for over 10 years. She currently teaches music at Hillcrest Elementary School in Chippewa Falls, WI. She directs the Hillcrest Singers children’s choir, as well as vocal music for Eau Claire Children’s Theatre productions. Tammie has directed music at Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2013. Currently she directs the Adult Senior Choir, as well as leads worship for WoW (Worship on Wednesday) services. She has her Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Nick Poss, owner of the Eau Claire Music School and co-founder of the chorus, returns as accompanist.

During the first half of the fall season, we’ll be collaborating with Gary Polden and the music program at Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire to stage a musical version of Noah’s Ark called “Get On Board, Children”. The production will feature great music, solo opportunities, and fantastic costumes, too! The performance will be Oct. 13th at 2pm at Hope Lutheran.

During the second half of the fall semester, we’ll continue learning music based on our “animal” theme, in preparation for our fall choir concert on Monday, Nov. 18th at 7 pm.
