"Workshop on How to Protect the environment, from Human Rights Perspective"

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our workshop How to Protect the environment from Human Rights Perspective held by Kuwait Society for Human Rights in partnership with the European Union.

Driven by KSHR’s commitment to promoting environmental citizenship, this workshop will explore frameworks of human rights and the environment within the legal, educational, and private sectors. The workshop will build the idea that human rights is an integral part of the larger ecosystem and that our future depends on each one of us embracing the challenge and acting responsibly and responsibly towards our environment. Protecting individual human rights, then, requires due regard to the conditions of cleanliness, safety, security, and the preservation of environmental resources including water, air and plant life.

The workshop will be held on Sunday, November 17th, from 03:00 pm to 09:00 pm. The following topics will be discussed: air pollution, climate change, waste management and the private sector’s role in the protection of environment.

About us
KSHR is a local, non-governmental, non-profitable public welfare association. It works in tandem with the government to help it implementing the commitments it took upon itself in the international forums. It further aims to protect and promote the human rights in Kuwait and Arab countries according to the international standards unanimously recognized by United Nations and the international charters and covenants rectified by Arab countries.

KSHR was established in 1988 and officially inaugurated in November 2004. It earned the consultative status during the meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 24 July 2018 upon the recommendation of the committee concerned with the non-governmental organizations.
