Magnetic Force: charged particles trajectories in a magnetic field
In this Form you will work with pictures taken from a real nuclear physics experiment. Low energy pions are sent in a chamber filled with Helium gas (2protons + 2 neutrons). In the image below you can see the collision of the pion with one Helium nucleus. The incoming pion is highlighted in the image and is negatively charged. As you can see, the tracks of the particles are curved trajectories. This is due to a magnetic field B in which the whole chamber is embedded.
