The Pledge For A Future asks all elected leaders to sign the following pledge:

"Our kids and families are threatened by planet-warming pollution. We must protect them. As an elected representative, I pledge to:
* Make big polluters pay for their pollution and clean it up.
* Stop giving polluters taxpayer money.
* Rapidly advance clean energy to stop pollution."

(Specifically, sponsor and vote for meaningful legislation to end fossil fuel subsidies and land leases, fine big polluters like Exxon, Shell, and Chevron for decades of pollution, prioritize investments in communities most impacted by pollution and extreme weather, and transition to 100% clean energy at the speed and scale that science demands. “Clean energy” means energy sources that naturally replenish, and does not include liquid natural gas or other dirty fuel sources.)
