Details: In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, MUHSEN East Canada invites parents, caregivers, and community members to a meaningful and engaging Parent Connect focused on inclusion in Islam. This session will feature a workshop by Hassam Munir from Yaqeen Institute titled “Inclusion in Islamic History: How Our Tradition Honoured Every Individual.” The discussion will explore how the Prophet ﷺ and Islamic tradition fostered a sense of belonging, dignity, and contribution for individuals of all abilities. Attendees will also gain insight into how disabilities were understood and accommodated throughout Islamic history, along with reflections relevant to our communities today. The event will begin with a brief presentation by MUHSEN, highlighting available supports and services for families, followed by an open-format parent connect. This space is designed to encourage meaningful conversation, shared experiences, and community building among MUHSEN and ISM families. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly, ask questions, and reflect on how we can continue building inclusive and supportive environments for all. This is an open event and all are welcome to attend.
