PATH International Equine Services for Heroes®: Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) for Veterans and Armed Services Members (VSM) Direct Service Application
PATH Intl. is proud to announce that the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has received grants from the Adaptive Sports Programs for Disabled Veterans and Disabled Members of the Armed Forces for the fourth consecutive year.
For the fifth year in a row, PATH Intl. will have the ability to provide reimbursements for direct participation in equine-assisted activities and therapies at PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Centers.
Criteria to Apply:
• Be a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center in good standing.
• Funding must be used for Veterans and Armed Services Members (VSM) who are not already receiving funding from VA Medical Center or other funding source. This grant does not allow for duplicate payments.
• Be able to submit the approved attendance forms and follow procedures for reimbursement on a monthly basis, communicated by PATH Intl. staff. There will be no exceptions for late paperwork.
• Administer PATH Intl.'s post-session survey to each participating VSM for outcomes tracking purposes upon request.
• If the center's application is accepted, center must be able to submit a signed center agreement form immediately.
• Be able to provide testimonials from VSM participants in EAAT lessons.
• The reimbursement period will be January 1, 2019 through August 30th, 2019.
• Centers who do not expend all funds awarded without appropriate communication to the PATH Intl. office and at least 30 days before the final reimbursement deadline will be penalized in future grant scoring.

Direct Service Delivery Information and Reporting Requirements
As a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center with a VSM program and upon approval of your application, your center will be eligible to receive up to $10,000 to provide EAAT lessons to VSM regardless of service era or nature of disability. Funds will be allocated until the total amount is expended. PATH Intl. will provide an attendance form for the center to complete on each VSM monthly for reimbursement.


Scoring & Acceptance Process
PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Centers who are awarded funding will be reimbursed at a rate of $75 per hour for 10 sessions provided to VSM. The applications are "blind" judged to ensure each PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center undergoes equal evaluation. The application period will open soon and will be communicated to PATH Intl. PAC’s via email, with specific details to be provided upon acceptance of the program.
