Butler Band Volunteer Interest (2024-2025)

David W. Butler High School has a long-standing band program that has supported thousands of students since its inception. Keeping this running and funded is the work of a small army and this year is no exception. While we have dedicated board members working to address day to day issues, there is a lot of work we need support with. We are asking for all current Band Parents and any Alumni with interest to submit the following form to let the board know of any efforts you may have interest supporting and/or experience. Our goal is to establish committees to focus on specific efforts to help grow the organization.

Committee Leaders *

Committee Leaders can help the Board with specific duties.

Committee Lead Positions

The board is looking to bring on team members join to help lead committees and focus on achieving specific tasks. Committee Lead Positions help the Board with additional tasks outside of the business roles. These members would give regular updates (in-person or via email) to the board to review at meetings and the role DOES NOT require being a Marching Band parent. Current areas of interest are below. Committee Leads are meant to lead a group, not do everything on their own. It is a great way for a family/friends to get involved together.

* Some committees already have planned events, but need someone that could coordinate with the board.

*Social Events (This is an important lead postition. You get to organize the fun events for the students! (Banquets, pool party, Christmas party for example))

*Fundraising Events (Planning and Coordinating events like: Spirit Nights or Mattress Sale)

Corporate Fundraising (Help organize with businesses in our local community)

Band Camp (July 29 - Aug 9th, Coordinate help for Ms. G)

Volunteer Coordinator for Football Games and Competitions (Coordinate a team to ensure essential roles are covered)

Concessions for Football Games (Thursday & Friday Nights)

Not up for leading, that is ok. Any support in any way helps and we still want to hear from you. Please select the type of efforts you are interested in helping with. (Water/Snacks supplied by Boosters.)

Football Game Chaperone (Friday Night Lights! Water cart/snacks for kids)

Concessions during Friday Night Football Games (5 Home Games/Possible Finals.)

Concessions during Thursday Night JV Football Games (4 Games)

Competition Chaperone (Water cart/snacks for kids, sit with/escort students)

Props for Marching Band (Building and/or painting, do you have powertools to help assist volunteers.)

Pit Crew for Competitions (Loading trucks, off-loading trucks)

Pit Crew for Competitions (I have a truck for pulling trailers or experience to operate trucks for competitions.)

Field Helpers for Competitions (Pushing Props on & off field at Competitions. Field Helpers are those parents that show up to watch and can lend a hand.)

Pit Crew for Football Games (Use Tractor to load Percussion/Off-load Percussion, bring things on & off the field)

Fundraising Events (Ticket Sales, Selling Items...)

Corporate Fundraising (Community & Business Outreach)

I have a Business that would like to sponsor the Butler Bands. (Boosters will reach out!)

Social Events (Helping plan/decorate fun activities for the kids, Swim Party, Christmas Party, Pot luck, Banquet for example)
