Hello :) Thank you for your interest in KUBE! The faces behind this form are Robert Williams and Cristal Arguello and we are the coordinators for the upcoming year!!! WOOHOOO!!! We have both been in the program since our freshman year and now it is our turn to put our own twist on KUBE and we couldn’t be more excited! So, let us tell you a little about the program…
The Basics: KUBE (Kids and UConn Bridging Education) is co-sponsored with the Asian American Cultural Center (AsACC) and the Puerto Rican / Latin American Cultural Center (PRLACC). This club aims to provided one on one mentoring with middle school students from local towns such as Killingly and Windham. For the KUBE day, we will meet once a month on a Saturday for around 5-6 hours, this will take place at the ballroom of the student union where lunch will be provided. Please note that you will not be traveling to the schools, rather the schools will be coming to UConn. As a KUBE mentor (big), you will be paired with a student from Windham or Killingly (little) creating a big-little pair. The pair will be placed in a team consisting of 8-10 other pairs which will then travel as a group to 5 different activities during the KUBE day focusing primarily on STEM, Literacy, Arts/Crafts, Physical Fitness, and Cultural activities. While KUBE is considered to be one of the largest mentoring programs on campus, the loving and welcoming KUBE atmosphere encourages laughter, growth, and friendship making it truly a one of a kind club. But, if you don't believe us, check out the photo album in the link below :D
