Hamann Park and Monroe Middle School needs your help watering the new shrubs and trees planted by the great folks at Our City Forest and their many dedicated volunteers. We are still working on will be the long-term watering of these plants. These are drought tolerant, so, once they are established, no additional watering will be necessary.
Can't deliver muscle to help water, then consider helping in some other way, such as helping with refreshments for the volunteers or helping to figure out a good solution for how we water these shrubs and trees on an ongoing basis. This is a collaborative project with the school and school district, as they have committed to providing the water.
As background, the City of San Jose has provided HPNA a matching grant of $1,750 to for this project. It will require matching volunteer hours to actually implement the solution; hence why the questions about whether you are interested in participating.
This is truly going to take a community effort to continue to beautify this small strip of San Jose.
