On March 5th 1994, Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. was founded at the University of Colorado at Boulder by 14 women who felt alienated from their campus and felt a strong sense of “culture shock” upon entering college. They set out to make an organization that will preserve their culture, their identity, and create a home away from home. Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. focuses on academic excellence, community service, empowerment, and preserving Latina culture.
PLC is a Latina based sorority but NOT Latina exclusive. Anyone who identifies with the female experience, meets the 2.6 GPA requirement (cumulative and semester), and loves our organization values or Latina Culture, is welcome to join!
