-A healthy snack will be provided for all participants
-Clubs have limited enrollment and are filled on a first come first serve basis. A minimum of 8 students are needed to fill a class and if not met, could be cancelled.
-Please provide a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice if your child has one and wishes to participate in another class. This is to help if classes are cancelled or enrollment is filled.

Classes end at 4 pm.

ONLY CHECKS/MONEY ORDERS/BANK CHECKS will be accepted as payment. Any cash will be sent back and your child could lose their spot. They should be made out to Town of Monson Public Schools. No Student will be registered for class until payment is sent into school in an envelope with MADE on it. Discounts: 2 clubs-$5 off, 3 clubs-$10, 4 clubs-$20 discount.

Anime Art- Emma Norval Grades 5-8: Learn how to draw anime! You'll learn valuable art skills while developing your own style. There will be an emphasis on character creation and design as well. This class is open to beginners and intermediates alike! MATERIAL FEE: $15

Flag Football with Mr. Hogan-Grades 5 and 6: Join Mr Petit to learn the basics of flag football and play games against your peers.

Intro to Jukido Jujitsu-part one with Bill Gendron- Grades 5-8: This Course is intended to provide an introduction to traditional Jukido® martial arts. Students will learn basic escape techniques, applications, safety of self and partner. This class will ONLY be used to teach self-defense. This is a twice a week course. Students must attend Mondays and Thursdays to give them the best practice. Students should wear sturdy clothing(long pants/shirts). Mr. Gendron is an IKA certified instructor and teaches classes in Monson. $80 (includes Monday&Thursday classes)

Yearbook- Grades 6-8 with Danielle Koziol Join Danielle Koziol as you learn how to navigate the yearbook program and take pictures to create a timeless memento for you and your classmates.

Bullet Journal Club with Audra Staples-Grades 5-8 Bullet journaling is a creative and relaxing form of organization. Students will create their own unique journals full of organizational pages to help them unwind, focus, and keep track of everything they do and love. They will plan out their extracurricular activities and their school work as well as their hobbies, goals and creative ideas. Material Fee $15

Boys Lacrosse with Dan Haggarty-Grades 5-8: Have you ever wanted to try out the game of lacrosse? Or are you a seasoned lacrosse player and want to get in more practice off season? Join Coach Dan in boys lacrosse! Students will need lacrosse equipment to scrimmage so bring it along if you have it. Some equipment is available to borrow if needed. Instruction in individual lacrosse skills including passing, catching, cradling, and shooting. Learning team play with offensive, defensive and goal positioning. Scrimmaging each week for fun and skill development. $40

Cake Baking and Decorating with Colleen Nadeau-Grades 5-8: Students will learn the basics of baking and be introduced to decorating with buttercream, fondant and candy toppers. $25 MATERIAL FEE

Crafting for a Cause with Audra Staples-Grades 5-8. Join Miss Audra. Students will work on a variety of crafts including bookmarks, cards, magnets and drawings that will be given to the Meals on Wheels program in Monson and will be handed out to MOW recipients with their meals. $5 material fee

Photography Club with Faith Ward-Grades 5-8: Participants will learn techniques to take better photographs with a camera and/or smartphone. Half of the class will be spent shooting outside and occasionally, with a live model and the other half will be spent working on editing photographs on the computer. The last class will be an Art show for family & friends. $20 MATERIAL FEE

Cross Country Trail Running with Laura Villamaino-Grades 5-8 Join Miss Laura for an afternoon of running and exploring the cross country trails behind GVMS. Please bring a bottle of water and sneakers.

Video-Blogging Club with Danielle Koziol- Grades 7-12. Create your own original video-blog or team up with a friend or two to create a group-blog. Students will film and edit videos with the intention to use blogging as a means of communicating thoughts, feelings and ideas. Topics of interest can include observations in nature and exploring weather patterns as we walk around campus.

Flag Football with Mr. Petit-Grades 7 and 8: Join Mr Petit to learn the basics of flag football and play games against your peers.

Girls Lacrosse with Mickey Novak-Grades 5-8: Girls at GVMS will learn and practice the basic skills of Lacrosse. All levels welcome! This program will be run by 10 year Monson Girls Varsity Lacrosse Assistant Coach, Mickey Novak. Bring your lacrosse equipment if you have it.

Band Ensemble-Grades 5-8 with Mr. Topham : Join Mr. Topham This class will give students a chance to rehearse and work together as one band. By working across grade levels, students will gain confidence and a sense of camaraderie with their fellow musicians, thus boosting and encouraging a sense of enthusiasm and commitment to a continually rigorous pursuit toward developing more advance techniques and quality musicianship. These acquired skills and traits will all contribute to rapid growth and success for each individual musician, as well as for the GVMS music program.

Arts and Crafts club with Danielle Koziol - Grades 5-8: Opened ended and guided craft projects creating original pieces of art such as, scrapbooking, popsicle stick picture frames, friendship bracelets, window/wall decorations, stone painting, leaf tracing, design/color your own coloring sheets(digital and print)etc. $20 MATERIAL FEE

Baking/Cooking Club with Kimberly Baker-Grades 5-8. Join Miss Kim in learning how to cook and bake some of your favorite meals and desserts. Some of these may include spaghetti and meatballs, cookies, brownies, and pizza!! $15 MATERIAL FEE
