Snapping Beans Colloquium RSVP

The Africana Studies Program welcomes Dr. Jayme Canty, a professor of Humanities at Clark Atlanta University, whose research and writing illuminate ways queerness is actualized even in the most traditional matrilineal spaces. In a two-part colloquium, Dr. Canty will discuss her book, Snapping Beans: Voices of a Black Queer Lesbian South, and lead an oral history workshop, by walking attendees through an interview featured in her publication.

A raffle for fifteen signed copies of Snapping Beans will conclude the event, with five reserved for community members.

Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
