FCC Exam sessions are provided monthly at the EARS club and other clubs in the metro area
(We may also have a Tuesday night exam if necessary)

As of Sept 7, 2017 the FCC requires we ask all new applicants, upgrades, vanity applications and renewals if they have been convicted of a felony. The new form 605 is posted here: http://www.ncvec.org/downloads/2017NCVEC605.pdf
A YES will place the application in the “pending file for review” category. Applicants answering YES would have to, within 14 days, provide the FCC with a statement explaining the circumstances, and a statement “giving the reasons why the applicant believes that grant of the application would be in the public interest, notwithstanding the actual or alleged misconduct,” the revised Form 605 instructions state.

We provide this course every spring and fall. We cover 9 chapters in 8 weeks using a variety of volunteer instructors from our club.

You Tube Video Classes
If your comfortable with online study I also highly suggest the free video series on YouTube professionally produced by Dave Casler. These are great in addition to our class as well. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL07A7D1C9D7BF7F48

We ask that those who sign up have the resolve and self-discipline to read the short chapter before each weekly class. The class is to allow the adviser to provide an review of the chapter and to answer questions.

We have given exams to a lot of people and have observed the following: People to take the online practice exam and pass it three times in a row almost always pass our exam. People who do not almost always fail our exam.

We have a few people throughout the year that walk in, pass the Technician, pass the General and pass the Extra in one morning. If you pass a test you have a free shot at the next one but if you've not used the online practice tests you likely will not pass.

$15.00 test fee, payable at time of test
9:30 AM at the EARS Club Station, first Saturday of EVERY MONTH (unless it lands on July 4 or some other holiday). If you plan to take two exams we ask you to arrive at 9:00 AM. Exams can begin as soon as the VEC are prepared.
