Please carefully review our updated information regarding Interlibrary Loan use.
- Patrons may have up to three (3) active Interlibrary Loan requests at any given time.
- You may only submit requests on your behalf, unless you are listed as a Responsible Party on a different account.
- Holds on Interlibrary Loans are included in the standard holds limit of 10 items.
- The following items cannot be requested on Interlibrary Loan:
- High-demand material
- New material published in the last 12 months
- Audiobooks, DVDs & Blu-ray, music CDs
- Rare or fragile materials
- Reference, Genealogy or 'local' history books. (Photocopies of specific pages may be requested in some cases.)
- Textbooks/workbooks
Potential charges
Materials are first requested from In-Network Georgia libraries. These libraries do not charge for lending materials and utilize a statewide Interlibrary Loan courier for delivery.
If the title is not available from an In-Network Library, you can opt in to use Out-of-Network libraries. These libraries do not charge for lending materials but they utilize U.S. mail for delivery. There will be a $4.00 charge for each title borrowed from an out-of-network library. Charges will not be posted to your account unless we are able to fill your request. You will be responsible for all charges even if you do not pick up your interlibrary loan.
Damaged or Lost items
Patrons will be responsible for lost materials or any damages, including damage incurred by returning item in outside bookdrop. Fines and fees are determined by the lending library and may be significantly higher than SRLS fines and fees.
