2017 - 2018 | Gender Equity Internship Application
The Women’s Resources and Research Center provides opportunities to promote gender equity in the UC Davis community. The WRRC hopes to achieve our vision- a world in which gender equity is achieved and people with all marginalized genders- have the opportunities and support to realize their full potential. We are committed to an intersectional approach to our activism that works to combat all types of oppression.

The WRRC Gender Equity Internship Program strives to provide leadership and professional skill development opportunities in inclusive and intersectional feminist spaces where all students recognize their leadership potential and where women, womxn, trans, non-binary and gender nonconforming student can become fully empowered. We seek to empower interns to develop creative ways to address sexism, genderism, cisgenderism, cissexism that inspire hope and offer opportunities to create change. The GenEq Internship Program offers student-scholars an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting WRRC functions, developing programs, and providing outreach presentations.

Currently, the WRRC is offering a unique internship program to develop the following skill sets:

• Program Development (Conferences, Workshops, Festivals, Discussions, Presentation, etc.)
• Outreach (Tabling, Promoting Events, Flyering, Presentations, etc.)
• Administrative (Front Desk Support and Office Management, Crisis Triage, Resource Referrals, etc.)

Fall 2017 Quarter -
Interns receive extensive training in WRRC values and guiding principles, and have opportunity to shadow current Community Organizers with program development, outreach, and promotion.

Winter 2018 Quarter -
Interns will have an opportunity to collaborate with a current Community Organizer with a larger-scale program, continue to outreach and promote the center, and will begin to develop their own self-initiated project

Spring 2018 Quarter -
Interns will plan, and execute their own program with the support of WRRC staff. Previous projects have included: Sex Talk Tuesday, Chillin' on the Porch - a Mental Health Series, Film Screenings, Feminist Friday, Creative Circles, etc.

• 4 hours a week or 40 hours a quarter for transcript notation
• Orientation and Training (5 hours) - Tentatively Scheduled for October 14, 2017
• 2017 - 2018 Academic Year Commitment
