Share your story through the magic of shadow puppetry! Led by artist Sunny Allis, this all-ages creative storytelling workshop welcomes LGBTQ+ youth to explore powerful ways of expressing their experiences, identities, and visions for change.
Discover how to craft narratives that matter to you—whether personal journeys, community experiences, or imagined futures. Design unique characters, build shadow puppets, and bring your story to life through light, movement, and sound. No artistic experience needed, just your story and imagination.
All materials provided. All ages and skill levels welcome. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Agenda:- Welcome and Intentions A brief welcome, set intentions, and introductions
- Crafting and Story Development This is the main event! Shadow puppet materials, crafting supplies, and story prompts will be available. Create your characters and develop your narrative. This is a creative period for reflection and storytelling.
- Final Thoughts & Community Share We'll come back together as a group for any final thoughts. This is an optional time to share a moment from your puppet story or just listen to the community's energy.
- Formal Closing If you'd like, you can donate your artwork to the Commission on LGBTQ Youth to showcase around the Commonwealth and inspire others. Otherwise, take your artwork home as a keepsake! Feel free to stay and mingle for a bit.
