President-Elect: Shannon St. OngeBio: Shannon is currently practicing as a Clinical Radiation Oncology RN at Solution Health Cancer Institute, Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot in Manchester, NH. She is responsible for seeing patients through their treatment, coordinating care, and managing symptoms related to radiation therapy. She embraces the challenges of caring for a diverse population with varying health needs. Shannon’s passion is to help individuals compassionately and holistically through their cancer care, inspired by her mother Julie’s journey with cancer.
Shannon began her quest for caring thirteen years ago with experience as a licensed nursing assistant and licensed practical nurse in long-term care and memory care. She then went on to work in a skilled nursing facility, while she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing at Manchester Community College in 2015. She graduated with awards in student leadership for her involvement in the New Hampshire Student Nursing Association. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Western Governors University in 2017. She has worked in progressive care and cardiac surgical care and was certified in Progressive Critical Care Nursing at the time.
Shannon recently achieved a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration. She is a 2023 Daisy Student Award recipient.
She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Alpha Beta Phi Chapter. She is a member of the Practice and Education Committee for the New Hampshire Board of Nursing. Her goals include growing as an oncology nurse and using leadership skills to guide the practice to quality improvement. Long-term goals include continuing education and achieving a terminal nursing degree that can open doors for sharing her experiences and knowledge through education.
