Description: Enabling scientific consensus on the main risks posed by advanced, general-purpose AI systems is key in ensuring proper governance of the technology. At the crossroads of technical expertise and policy, the network of the AI Safety Institutes is uniquely positioned to foster such international consensus and ensure its resonance with international, regional, and national policy debates on mitigating risks and unlocking opportunities related to the development of AI. The event will discuss initial outcomes of the AISI Network and possible avenues to strengthen AISIs role in supporting scientific research.
