Pi Sigma Alpha Mu Chapter (Columbia) Application


Pi Sigma Alpha is the only Political Science honor society in the United States recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), with over 740 chapters nationwide. Columbia University’s Pi Sigma Alpha Mu Chapter honors exceptional Political Science students in the oldest department of its kind in the United States. It is dedicated to students who excel in their Political Science coursework at Columbia University, and who demonstrate a dedication to public service and scholarship.

The Mu Chapter welcomes Political Science majors, concentrators, minors, and joint program students who have completed a major or minor in Political Science at their respective partner university. Dual BA students (Sciences Po) are also eligible.

These students should intend to continue striving in the field of Political Science via careers in government, public policy, law, research, and academia.

Please complete this application by April 7th, 2016 to be considered for induction. A $35 fee is required from all inductees. The application will be reviewed by our Board Members, who are all Columbia University seniors majoring in Political Science. Applicants can indicate in a separate email if they would prefer their material to be reviewed by Michael Gilden, the undegraduate Political Science program coordinator. All transcripts will be securely deleted after eligibility is confirmed.
