We have three main requirements for joining our community directory.
1. This directory is for humans who write about AI. That does not mean you have to use
AI; if you have ethical or other concerns about AI and write about why
you don't use it, you are welcome here. (Ethics & Society is one of
our biggest categories.) Our community is neither pro-AI nor anti-AI.
Reality is that people span the spectrum, and our community reflects
that diversity of views and usage.
2. The focus of this directory and our digests is
people (not bots) who write.
AI-generated articles are not a fit. People who use AI tools to shape
their writing and communicate their ideas are welcome, provided their
articles meet the criteria for human-authored works, such as the
guidelines from the
Authors Guild. If you have questions about this, please contact the She Writes AI organizers via DM on Substack.
3. Our mission is to support
women or nonbinary folks of all ages who write about
AI and data on
Substack.
(Men are welcome as allies in our online community of subscribers.)
If
you meet these requirements, please fill in this form to add yourself
to the directory. Please keep the contents respectful and suitable for professional environments and readers of all ages. We reserve the
right to reject entries if they don't fit with the scope of the
directory or the community mission, or to prune overly-long responses to fit the directory table.
We will contact you if further information is needed.
Note that some of our members are in high school, and we want our newsletter to be suitable for all ages.
If your newsletter or notes are explicit or otherwise NSFW, please note
this in the comment at the end of the form when you add yourself to the directory. You will be listed in our directory and are welcome to participate in our community, but your writing will not be included in the digests or books we publish.
