The NCR-SARE regional Technical Committee (TC) advises about process and reviews Research and Education (R&E) grant proposals. It is a 20-member committee representing the region with expertise in areas designated by SARE legislation.
As a Technical Committee member: I am willing to commit the time and effort needed to review 25 - 30 Research and Education proposals in April and May, serving as primary reviewer for 2-4, during each year of my 3-year tenure;
I am able to participate and attend a 1.5-day in-person meeting in June each year to discuss proposals in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota;
I will provide summaries of review comments for proposals;
I understand that members of the NCR-SARE Technical Committee may not apply for SARE R&E grants during their time on the Committee.
Grant reviewers receive a modest fee for their time spent reviewing proposals.
They are also reimbursed for travel expenses for in-person meetings.

As a Farmer Rancher Review Committee member: I am a Farmer or Rancher and am willing to commit the time and effort needed to review 25-30 Farmer Rancher Grant proposals in December and January, and attend a 2 day in-person meeting in February each year to discuss proposals in Saint Louis, Missouri or Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota.
I understand that members of the NCR-SARE Farmer Rancher Grant Review Committee may not apply for SARE Farmer Rancher grants during their time on the Committee.

As a Partnership Grant Program Review Committee member: I am willing to commit the time and effort needed to review 15-20 or more Partnership Grant proposals in November and December, and participate in a 2-3 hour conference call meeting in early January each year to discuss proposals.
I understand that members of the NCR-SARE Partnership Grant Review Committee may not apply for SARE Partnership grants during their time on the Committee.

As a Professional Development (PDP) Review Committee member: I am willing to review approximately 15 or more PDP proposals in May and June, and participate in a 2-3 hour conference call meeting in late June each year to discuss proposals.
I understand that members of the NCR-SARE Professional Development Program Committee may not apply for SARE Professional Development Program grants during their time on the committee.

As a Graduate Student Grant Program Review Committee member: I am willing to commit the time and effort needed to review 15-20 Graduate Student Grant proposals in April and May, and participate in a 2.5-hour conference call meeting in June each year to discuss proposals.
I understand that members of the NCR-SARE Graduate Student Grant Program Review Committee may not apply for a SARE graduate student grant either as a student or a faculty advisor during their time on the committee.

As a Youth Educator Grant Program Review Committee member: I am willing to commit the time and effort needed to review 25-30 Youth Educator Grant proposals in November and December, and participate in a 2-hour conference call meeting in January each year to discuss proposals.
I understand that members of the NCR-SARE Youth Educator Grant Review Committee may not apply for SARE Youth Educator grants during their time on the committee.
