Our Memories: Community Digitization Event RSVP
Black Bottom Archives presents Our Memories: Community Digitization Day is designed to help you preserve your history for future generations. On November 1, 2025 bring your family albums, letters, photographs, and cherished documents to our pop-up in celebration of our exhibition From the Bottom, Up opening at the Detroit Historical Museum for a hands-on digitization experience!

You are welcome to bring 3-5 items you’d like to have scanned. At this time we are only able to handle printed or paper objects like photographs, letters, and documents. Attendees will receive a free flash drive with their archived items, and will have the option to donate digital copies of their items to Black Bottom Archives to become part of our digital archive.

Our team of experts will guide you in:

  • Scanning and digitizing your personal photos and documents

  • Describing and organizing digital files for easy access

  • Learning tips for long-term digital preservation
