Rules
Objective: This program is designed to showcase the versatility of the Dogo Argentino, both in the showroom and in the field. It highlights the breed's ability to perform the tasks it was originally bred for, while staying true to its standard of conformation. The Dogo Argentino, along with its dedicated owners and enthusiasts, works to preserve both the form and function of this remarkable breed. This event is not a competition, but rather an opportunity to demonstrate the skill, type, and performance of Dogos that excel in both their working roles and breed characteristics.
Dogo Qualifications:
1. Must be AKC registered.
2. The Dogo must be currently ranked in the 2025 Top 40 in Breed Points
according to AKC.
3. Dogo must have a CHIC Number. (BAER TEST, HIP TEST, HEART TEST, and
EYES, ELBOWS, DNA, or THYROID TEST submitted to OFA).
Hog Qualifications:
Must be free range wild hog. No stocked wild hogs, no domestic hogs.
Owner Qualifications:
Must be a member in good standing of DACA.
How Points are Calculated and Recorded:
1. Members can submit as many qualifying hogs as they wish. The points will be recorded as submitted.
2. A clear Picture must be submitted of each hog showing their weight. A hanging scale is accepted to show the weight or can be measured with a fabric type
tape measurer and will be rounded down to the nearest 50LBS according to average of the hog weight by
dimensions.
3. Each submission is $10 per Dogo and must be received within 72 hours of the hunt.
4. If more than one dog is involved in the hunt, the hog's weight will be split evenly among the dogs that held it.
If multiple dogs are using the same hog to earn points, a separate fee must be paid for each dog. (All ranked Dogos that submit at least two hunts will be acknowledged at the 2025 National Specialty Banquet for their participation.)
