On behalf of my profession and the people that I serve every day, I believe that the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry should entrust the safety of all Pennsylvanians to the highest-trained member of the dental treatment team, the dentist. I ask that the members of the State Board of Dentistry reject physician's offices as independent practice sites for Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioners, and take oversight and patient safety into consideration when determining additional independent practice sites.
