Huron and Sanilac County Catapult Small Business Competition

Thank you for your interest in applying to compete in the 2018-19 small business competition sponsored by the I-69 Thumb Region. Total cash prizes for the I-69 seven county Thumb region will total $40,000.

Local cash prizes will be awarded for First Place ($2,500) and Second Place ($1,500). The first place winner will advance to the I-69 Thumb Region regional competition for a chance to win additional cash prizes, including: $6,000 for First Place, $4,000 Second Place and $2,000 for Third Place. The Catapult small business competition is intended to provide capital to launch startup business ventures or grow existing small businesses.

Ground Rules & Process:
- Your small business must be located in either Huron or Sanilac County
- Eligible applicants are individuals wishing to start a business within the next six months or existing small businesses. A
small business has 20 or fewer employees, existing revenue of less than $400,000. Former finalists of previous Catapult
competitions are ineligible, other previous applicants (non-finalists/presenters) are welcome to apply.
- You must agree to present at the Huron local competition on December (TBD) and Sanilac local competition on December (TBD) and potentially the regional competition on January 24
- You must answer the questions below and submit a brief executive summary and Powerpoint Presentation
- Application, Executive Summary and Powerpoint presentations are due by November 1
- Application can be submitted first (independently) followed by Executive Summary and Powerpoint by November 1
- Email Executive Summary (Word or Google Doc) and MS Powerpoint to:
- MS Powerpoint not to exceed 10 slides, finalists chosen will utilize to give a live four minute presentation

As your next steps, please 1) write a brief executive summary not to exceed three pages or 1,200 words 2) prepare a PowerPoint Presentation not to exceed 10 slides (finalists will use to present four minute business pitches at the live competition).
