Virtual Book Club - Hosted by the Village of Ardsley Multicultural, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Ardsley Public Library - Thursday, August 20
The Ardsley Multicultural, Diversity and Inclusion Committee & the Ardsley Public Library are starting a virtual book club. We will select stories designed to spark discussion and reflection about race, identity, orientation, equity, community, and understanding.

We encourage community members of all ages to participate in our virtual book club! We will clarify which texts are appropriate for what age groups in our correspondence. Whenever possible, we will pick books that have multiple formats (movies, websites, etc.) so we can encourage as much community participation as possible engaged in this conversation.

Our text for August 2020 is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This text is recommended for readers ages 14 and up. The library has many versions of the book available: text as published, large print, audio CD, electronic audiobook, French-language version, and a Spanish-language version.
Alternatively, we encourage individuals and families to watch the movie (DVD and Blu-ray versions are also available from the library) if that is preferred. The movie is rated PG-13.
Lastly, you are welcome to join in the conversation without reading the book or viewing the movie.

If you would like to reserve a copy, please call (914) 693-6636 or email APL@wlsmail.org the Ardsley Public Library.

Our discussion of the story will be a virtual event and registration is required. The discussion will occur on Thursday August 20, at 7:30 PM over Zoom. A link to the event will be sent out 24 hours prior to the event.
