This April you can be a part of Saare County Central Library's monthly American book club!
Our April book will be To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
"To Kill a Mockingbird" takes us to the American Deep South in the 1930s. A young white woman is attacked and a black man is charged with the crime. Scout Finch is the daughter of the lawyer Atticus Finch, who is the one defending the falsely accused black man. So the struggle for justice begins.
Through little Scout's and his brother Jem's eyes we see themes of racial injustice, morality, and empathy of the world.

You are welcome to read the book in any language that is convenient for you, but please note that our discussions will be held in English.

Aprillikuu raamatuks on Harper Lee "Tappa laulurästast"
Sügaval USA lõunaosariikides 1930ndatel rünnatakse valgenahalist noort naist.
Kuriteos süüdistatakse alusetult mustanahalist meest ning teda asub kaitsma advokaat nimega Atticus Finch. Läbi Atticuse tütre Scout´i ja poja Jem'i räägitud loo kohtuvad lapsed rassilise ebaõigluse, moraali ning emaaptia teemadega.
NB! Raamatut võib lugeda omale sobivas keeles, kuid arutelu toimub INGLISE KEELES.
