2019 Tapia - MolSSI Workshop
The Tapia Center is hosting the Tapia-MolSSI Workshop in Computational Chemistry on June 10-14, 2019 at Rice University, Houston, Texas. This a free five-day workshop open to all undergraduate students majoring in chemistry related fields. Preference will be given for underrepresented, low income sophomores and juniors. The workshop focuses on scientific programming skills and applications in computational chemistry that will enhance the students’ opportunity to land an undergraduate research experience, job, or internship in computational chemistry. No prior programming experience is required.

The workshop will be led by MolSSI partners:
- Professor Ashley McDonald, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, California Polytechnic State University
- Dr. Jessica Nash, MolSSI Software Scientist
- Professor Jay Foley, Department of Chemistry William Paterson University.

Enhancement Speakers will include 2011 Medal of Science Recipient and Rice Professor Richard Tapia, Johns Hopkins University Professor and ACS Board of Directors Member Rigoberto Hernandez and Vice President for Research and University of Minnesota Professor Chris Cramer, among other speakers from industry.
