Registration: Cultural Sensitivity Training Workshop led by Shawn Smith of the Alma Institute
Visioning a Greater Racine and co-sponsors are sponsoring a workshop on “cultural sensitivity training” designed to enable us to be aware of the strengths and limitations of relating to others based on our own personal and social place in society.

We represent common commitments and organizations that reflect racial, ethnic, and gender differences.
Diversity in itself does not assure thoughtful and informed engagement. It is a beginning. This workshop that addresses the social and power aspects of cultural differences based on race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender orientation, different ability, or position. We encourage you to participate in this workshop.

Shawn Smith from the Alma Institute will lead us in this workshop. He comes highly recommended as a person who can guide us through some introspective and interactive processes that will lead us to learn more about ourselves and others.

Last fall, Shawn led a similar workshop for Visioning a Greater Racine, an experience that was well received by participants. Now we is joining with co-sponsors to extend the reach of these efforts.

It is our common hope that the awareness of ourselves and our sensitivity to others will give us the competence and confidence to engage one another with respect and frankness and help to assure the success of our collective efforts to create a community that is life-giving for all.
