TNR Specialist Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a Best Friends TNR Specialist volunteer! This application is step 1 in becoming a TNR Specialist.

There are 3 videos to watch, and the whole process should take about 20 minutes to complete. Kick back, tell your cat to stay off your keyboard, and get excited to save cats' lives!
Get started!
Please watch the videos and answer the following questions. Once your application has been completed in full you will be informed within one week (5 business days) if your application has been approved. From that point, training will then be available for you to sign up for on a first come, first served basis.

Volunteers must be age 18 or older. Completion of this application does not guarantee a volunteer position as a TNR Specialist. We are looking for dedicated people who love to help cats, can work independently, and follow guidelines for ensuring successful trapping of cats. If that's you, we can't wait to have you on board!
What is a Community Cat?
The Best Friends Community Cat Department works with the community and partner shelters to conduct trap-neuter-return (TNR) of community cats. Community cats (also known as feral, stray, or free-roaming cats), are the most at-risk animals entering shelters in Utah. Since community cats are at great risk of being killed in the shelter system, Best Friends focus is to prevent community cats from entering the shelter in the first place by organizing and operating humane TNR programs. TNR is a comprehensive management plan in which healthy community cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returned to their outdoor communities. TNR is critical in our mission to creating a no-kill community. Your volunteer work as a Trapping Specialist will be helping save hundreds of lives!
