JOB DETAILS:
Looking for a great opportunity to help create the next generation of climbers? High Point Climbing is seeking team players who enjoy being creative, outgoing, and interactive with youth athletes to be Club and Team Coaches. These positions will provide direct supervision to children of all kinds in seasonal recreational clubs and/or year round teams. As a coach, you will provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on our core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and climbing. You can choose to coach multiple levels in our programs or just one. There are also multiple opportunities for extra shifts and hours working in the other areas of the gyms if desired.

AVAILABILITY:
Clubs run seasonally in the spring from late January to early May and in the fall from late August to Early November
Development and Competitive Teams run year round anywhere between 2 and 5 nights per week.
Must be available to coach between 4:30pm - 7:30pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises a group of children.
Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with High Point values.
Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
Attends all scheduled shifts, staff meetings, and training days.
Follows High Point policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
Maintains accurate and timely records, including monitoring of check-in and check-out.
Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
Other duties as assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: (High Point may offer some of the required training)
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
Have a background working with youth athletes
Have 1+ year experience in rock climbing
Enjoy supporting climbers of all ages and ability levels
Be energetic, personable and dedicated to building strong ongoing relationships with climbers.
Be comfortable executing written group exercises and workouts.
Knowledge with instruction, competitive coaching, climbing, route setting, guiding or a related eld is a plus.
Additional bonus qualifications include First Aid and CPR, AMGA, CWI, SPI, USA Certified Coach
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of climbing activities in a variety of settings
Walking, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, lifting (could be up to 50 pounds).
COMPENSATION (HOURLY): $11-14/hr based on experience
