ALTA43 Virtual Bookfair Request Form (2020)
ALTA's bookfair is always a celebration of the work of our community. During our virtual 2020 conference, ALTA is using Bookshop.org to highlight member translations and the titles published by translation presses. As affiliates of Bookshop, Bookshop pays ALTA a 10% commission on every sale, and gives a matching 10% to independent bookstores. Read more about their model at
Many translations distributed through Small Press Distribution will also be available for sale at a discount on SPD's website during the conference dates. Please visit
and support small presses publishing literary translation!
Finally, we want to make sure that every book requested is featured in some way. If your book is not available through either Bookshop or SPD, we will include it in a pdf posted to our conference website so that you may direct attendees to it.
To request a title for the ALTA43 bookfair, please fill out this form by August 17, 2020. Fill out one form for each title. **Publishers, please note that you have the option to send a list of titles, with the below information included for each, in an Excel spreadsheet to
, in lieu of filling out this form for each of your books. Please ensure that any SPD-distributed titles you send to ALTA are going to be in stock with SPD by the start of the conference.**
Please note that not all books are available on Bookshop.org. Books must have an ISBN and be available through Ingram to appear on Bookshop.org. We will upload as many titles as we are able, and we will send all titles distributed through SPD to our colleagues there, for possible inclusion in their translation list at
