Sandwiches for Asylum Seekers 4/20
Thank you for volunteering to make sandwiches for asylum seekers! Our group has fed over 1700 people with sandwiches, snacks, water, juice, fruit and some cupcakes in the last two months!

Sonni Mun and Antonius Wiriadjaja (@foodmasku) will be hosting the next one at foodmasku's art studio in TriBeCa on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

We're excited to make 200-300 sandwiches and would love to team up with you! If you have not joined us before, could you take a moment to fill out our form?

Sandwich-making begins at 9 am, and we'll be heading out to distribute them by 11:30 am. After you fill out the form, we'll share the location details with you!

Supplies
If you're joining us for the first time as a volunteer, please bring items for sandwich-making or other easily distributable food. We highly recommend you bring bread as it is often the first ingredient that we run out of. White bread is preferred. All food should be in individual servings, and if utensils are required, kindly provide them. For the sandwiches, which work best, we kindly ask not to bring any pork products. Thank you!
Supplies you can bring - we welcome any contribution you would like to give. But these are the ones we could really use more of! *
Required
More Supplies - We still have leftovers of these, but you're welcome to bring more if you have it.
Other Supplies
Currently, we are unable to accept non-food items. Kindly refrain from bringing bags of clothing. Unfortunately, in previous instances, we received a substantial amount of clothes, particularly women's, summer attire, or those in poor condition. This overwhelmed our volunteers, posed safety concerns, and necessitated removal. We encourage you to consider donating your clothes to a local organization instead. Thank you for your understanding.

Mutual aid is a political act! We share resources freely, without conditions or judgment, and without imposing control. Let's treat everyone as capable and self-determining adults. It's a challenge to rethink the often perpetuated charity models of us-and-them, above-and-below, savior-and-victim. Thank you for contributing to this meaningful endeavor!
Thank you!!!
