2024 NC Pickle Festival Recipe Contest Entry Form
The NC Pickle Festival Recipe Contest is sponsored by Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc. and organized by Wayne County Cooperative Extension.

Prize description
There will be up to four (4) winners (appetizer, main dish, dessert, beverage). The prize is one year of Mt. Olive Pickles. Prizes will be awarded within sixty (60) days after winner verification. No prize substitution or transfer is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value, for any reason.


Eligibility
The contest is open only to individuals, eighteen (18) years or older at the time of entry, who are legal residents of the United States. Participants must be amateur cooks.

Entry:
Participants will be required to fill out one form per entry, submit an original recipe, and a photo of the final product. The Recipe must:
• Include detailed, step-by-step preparation instructions.
• List each ingredient in exact common U.S. household measurements and order of use in making the recipe.
• Indicate cooking times and the number of servings.
• Use at least 1/2 cup of Mt. Olive Pickles. The actual purchase of Sponsor Products is not required to enter.
• Photo must clearly show your creation as it would be served.

You may only enter electronically. All information provided by the participant must be complete, true, and correct. Submissions to the Contest must be received by March 31, 2024, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time in order to be eligible; Recipes received after that date will be deemed ineligible to win.

Entries must be for one (1) of the following four (4) categories, each a “Food Category” –

Appetizer
Main Dish
Dessert
Beverage

General rules and limitations
By entering a Recipe with a Photo, you represent that: (i) your Recipe and Photo are your own original works; and (ii) you own or have the rights to convey any and all right and title in any material submitted as part of your entry into the Contest. By entering, you grant to Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to edit, publish, promote, republish at any time in the future and otherwise use your Recipe and Photo along with your name and likeness, in any and all media for any purpose, without further permission, notice or compensation (except where prohibited by law). By participating in the Contest, you agree to release Sponsor and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, directors, officers, and agents from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, possession, use, or misuse of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures, or other errors or problems which may occur in connection with the Contest, whether computer, network, technical, mechanical, typographical, printing, human or otherwise, including, without limitation, errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes, in any Contest-related materials, or that may limit prize fulfillment or a participant’s ability to enter the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to amend these Official Rules and to disqualify permanently from the Contest any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules.
Winners selection and notification:
All entries must meet the requirements of the contest entry criteria. Recipes not meeting contest entry criteria will be disqualified. Entries must be the original recipe of the entrant. Judging of the recipe will be done by NC Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agents. The judges will score entries based on the following criteria:

Perceived Appetite Appeal as Evidenced in the Photo - 25%
Perceived Ease of Preparation - 25%
Originality  - 25%
Creative use of Mt. Olive Pickles - 25%

Judges will disqualify previously published recipes, such as but not limited to those in cookbooks, in magazines, online, from food companies, and winners in recipe contests, unless the recipe features changes considered significant by the Judges in their sole and absolute discretion. Finalists will be required to certify, on information or belief, that their recipes are their original creation and have not been published or publicized and have not been recognized as a winner in a recipe contest. Judges reserve the right to change recipe names, edit, adapt or modify entries as  they deem appropriate. Decisions of the Judges are final in all matters relating to this contest.

The entry with highest overall score will be declared the potential winner. Any potential winner will be notified by email and/or telephone. If a potential winner: cannot be contacted; does not respond within five (5) days from the date the Sponsor first tries to notify him/her; such potential winner forfeits all rights to win the Promotion or receive the prize, and an alternate potential winner may be selected.
