South Whiteshell Women's Sailing League
In the summer of 2021, the Falcon Sailing Club (formerly Falcon Yacht Club) and West Hawk Lake Sailing Club plan to launch a new joint sailing program targeted at women who have limited or no prior sailing experience. Both Clubs have active women sailors who have mentored one another over the years. We’re hoping there are more women out there who would love to join us in experiencing the joy of sailing.

Please take a moment to complete our brief questionnaire so that we can plan a program that best meets the needs of our community.

Note: the program components are subject to change based on the results of the survey, so tell us what YOU want!

Program Components:

- One-week women’s Learn to Sail program at Falcon Sailing Club (July 12 – 16). Instruction will be provided by an accredited instructor with easy-to-handle Optimist sailboats (one person per boat). A safety boat will be on water during the lessons. (Cost - $225)

- Program participants are eligible for a half price introductory family membership in the Falcon Sailing Club for the balance of the season. Members may use the Club facilities and sail boats. (Cost - $125 for the entire family)

- South Whiteshell Women’s Sailing League weekly sessions. Continue developing your skills and get together for some fun once a week (day tbd) at Falcon Sailing Club for the 4 weeks following the Learn to Sail program.

- Sessions will be facilitated by experienced club sailors. Open to the Learn to Sail program participants as well as members of any yacht or sailing club under the Sail Manitoba jurisdiction.

- Drop-in program at Falcon Sailing Club. For anyone who wants to further refine or develop their skills, arrange a 2-hour one-on-one session with an experienced sailor ‘mentor’ for $25 ($45 for first session for non- sailing club members, which includes a Sail Manitoba membership).

- One-week intermediate sailing / introduction to racing program at Falcon Sailing Club in early August (Cost - $225)

- Fun end of season ‘Women, Wind & Wine’ event will cap the program.
