Supporting Wellbeing Steering Committee Expression of Interest
We are seeking steering committee members to guide the development of a training program that will enhance the capacity of people leading and supporting on the land programs to respond to and manage difficult situations on the land and in their communities, such as people who are being violent, detoxing, experiencing overwhelming emotions, experiencing trauma symptoms, or contemplating suicide. The proposed training will be modular, adaptive, made-in-the-North, culturally appropriate, and trauma-informed. It will support and promote community wellness, while also increasing the effectiveness of land-based programming.

This two-year project is being administered by the NWT Recreation and Parks Association, but guided by a steering committee of on the land leaders from different regions of the NWT.

The steering committee is responsible for the overall leadership of the Supporting Wellbeing project. The steering committee will provide guidance to the contractor(s) designing, developing, and implementing of the training program.
