FLRC Joseph P. Reynolds Scholarship Application
The Finger Lakes Running Club annually awards a minimum of three unrestricted $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors who have plans for continuing their education and have participated in their running community during their high school experience. Coach Joe believed the scholarship fund had value and would provide a legacy by supporting youth running. He was a strong advocate of all types of running for all types of people. Applications for the 2026 Joseph P. Reynolds scholarships are now open. Applications (and the corresponding letters of recommendation) must be submitted no later than April 15, 2026.

Submit an essay to scholarships@fingerlakesrunners.org. It should describe your academic, extracurricular, and running achievements and include any plans you may have for a running career beyond high school as well as the personal benefits you have gained by participating in the sport. Please describe any relationship you have with the Finger Lakes Runners Club; for example, if you have run or volunteered at an FLRC race. Please also describe how this scholarship will assist in furthering your education. This essay must be submitted by April 15, 2026. *

Two letters of recommendation, one from your educational experience and one from your running experience, are required. Please share the names of letter writers as well as their email addresses. Letter writers should submit their letters to scholarships@fingerlakesrunners.org. Letters must be submitted by April 15, 2026. *
