Living Poetry Application 2016-2017 School Year
How do the deaths of young American soldiers impact our perception of war? Living Poetry focuses on the casualties of war through the poem “The Young Dead Soldiers” by Archibald MacLeish. Students will experience the poetic voices in the poem and explore the impacts of war. This program includes a walk and site visit to San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio. Students work collaboratively while making connections to the young soldiers who sacrificed their lives.

*to better prepare the students for the program, one of our educators will facilitate the pre-lesson plan prior to your visit. Once you are registered for your program, we will work with you to find a suitable time. Pre-lessons are about 1.5 - 2 hours in length.

*We can accommodate two classes per day (70 students) and most often a whole grade level in a week.

**Limited transportation is available to eligible schools. For more information or to submit your application: https://goo.gl/sbvpzG
