AMC Arcade Call for Games

The 2013 Allied Media Conference is looking for a few good games! During the conference, there will be space devoted to showcasing and playing games (video games, card games, board games, ARGs, etc.) throughout the weekend. If you're a game designer, developer, hacker, or student working on games that educate, activate and empower for justice, we want to bring your project to a diverse global audience of media makers, community organizers, activists, artists, and technologists at the conference in Detroit.

We'd love to see a wide variety of games, from single-player to collaborative, from card games to console hacks and sims. Whether your game is about environmental justice, intervening against bullies, or simply telling a story about a character who doesn't fit in the mainstream game industry, it's welcome here. Any platform, format, or genre is acceptable, so long as it fits with the Allied Media Conference's mission to address contemporary problems through creative, transformative strategies.

Last year, we featured a variety of games, including "Dog Eat Dog," a tabletop roleplaying game from Liwanag Press; "Dys4ia," a single-player computer game about hormone therapy from designer Anna Anthropy; "A Friendship in Four Colours," a cooperative two-player computer game that challenges assumptions about competition in games by Damien Sommer, and many more. You can read about them all here: http://unatronic.tumblr.com/post/25573490179/allied-media-conference-2012-drop-in-playpen-games

We'd love to see your game at this year's conference!

Game submissions are due by 11:59 PM EST on WEDNESDAY MAY 1.
