We demand the recognition by our government that health care is a human right.
We demand the elimination of private health insurance and the banning of for-profit delivery of care.
We demand the enactment of a publicly financed, national single payer program that would provide comprehensive coverage to everyone.
We demand that health care delivery be transformed from profit-seeking ventures into services organized to serve the people of our country, a system in which all caregivers are freed from corporate control.
Improved Medicare for All free from profit would permanently end:
- Impending Medicaid cuts
- Overpayments to Medicare Advantage
and the privatization of Medicare
- Narrow
networks, prior authorizations, delays and denials of care, upcoding, fraud and
waste of Medicare Advantage plans, all private insurance plans, and profit
- Medical debt, deductibles, copays, co-insurance,
medical bankruptcy, and all financial barriers to care
By signing this petition, I am urging my Congresspersons to make a publicly visible fight and:
- Speak out about Improved Medicare for
All in a "Special Order" speech on the floor
of Congress
- Support the issue on their website
- Discuss it at Town Halls
- Write about it in emails and
newsletters to constituents
- Talk about it in hearings, media, and
at all public opportunities
