Yoga at the Black River Cypress Preserve
Oct. 28, 2023     11:00 - 3:00, limited to 30, donation based class 

Guided by Pawleys Island local Sharon Stollenmaier ERYT 200, participants will spend the day  outdoors beginning with a specially themed yoga class led by Yogi Sharon at Sweet Bay Pond.  Followed by a short meditation, journals will be provided for writing or drawing.  After a picnic lunch,  we will explore the amazing flora and fauna of the preserve by bike or on a hike.  

This is a donation-based class with donations made to Sharon on site.  

Participants should bring a lunch, water bottle, and yoga mat or beach towel.  Wear good shoes for walking.  There will be a 15 minute hike to the yoga location, then walking back to the Fountain Courtyard where we will eat lunch.   After lunch, we will depart for a bike ride or hike.   Bikes and helmets supplied by the preserve. 

Gates open at 10:30, hike to yoga location starts at 11:00.  Gates closed and locked by 11:10. Late arrivals will not be allowed access once the gate is closed at 11:10.

BRCP Waiver/ Individual/Family

THE UNDERSIGNED PARTICIPANT contracts and agrees with the Black River Cypress Preserve (hereafter “BRCP”) as follows:

That the Participant is fully aware of the inherent risks involved with the physical activities listed above and agrees to follow all instructions and directions of BRCP personnel, guides, instructors, or any other posted rules of conduct.

That the Participant agrees to hold BRCP harmless and indemnify BRCP, BRCP personnel and BRCP’s owner, the Butler Conservation Fund, from any and all losses, claims, suits, injuries or property damage suffered by the Participant or any third party which was caused or occasioned by the intentional or negligent act or omissions of any third parties during the designated activities.

The Participant covenants and agree that in addition to the matters identified here, that Participant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify BRCP, BRCP personnel and BRCP’s owner, the Butler Conservation Fund, for any and all expenses including attorney fees, court costs or related expenses associated with the defense of any claim or suit referenced herein.

That the Participant, being fully aware of the inherent risks associated with the activities listed above in general, assumes all risks associated freely, knowingly and voluntarily.

The Participant agrees to pay for any and all medical costs that may directly or indirectly result from participation in these activities and/or Participant certifies that Participant has adequate health insurance necessary to provide for and pay such medical costs. Furthermore, Participant agrees to pay for any medical costs that exceed the limits of their insurance coverage.

That the Participant is 18 years of age or older. If Participant is under 18 years of age, the Participant for him/herself and his/her child (if applies), agrees to and does release, discharge and covenant not to sue the BRCP it’s respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, and personnel, other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises of property on which the activity takes place (each considered one of the “Releasees” herein), from all liability, claims, demands, losses or damages on my accounts caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the “Releasees” or otherwise.

I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, damages I incur as a result of my participation in the above activities. My signature signifies that I fully understand and agree to the bound by this Release & Waiver of Liability & Assumption of Risk Agreement, for myself and for my underage child (if applicable) and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.
