Player Expectations & Code of Conduct
  • Be committed and be on time. 
  • Playing time is earned and is not guaranteed or given to any player. 
  • Players are required to attend all practices, team activities, and games. Missing a practice, game, or team event is not acceptable unless it is an emergency, a player is sick, or it was previously discussed with the coach. 
  • Zero tolerance for disrespect or negativity towards coaches, teammates, or overall philosophy of the program.
  • Be supportive and provide positive encouragement to teammates, whether or not you are playing. 
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times. There is zero tolerance for the use of abusive, racial, foul, or taunting language or actions at any time.
  • Have pride and represent your team well. You are an ambassador for the Palisades Lacrosse program. 
  • Locker Room - Respect your home. All players are accountable for their stalls' appearance and overall upkeep of the locker room. 
  • Game Day Dress Code - All players must abide by the dress code policy.
  • Uniforms - All players are required to return their fully washed uniform at the end of the season. This includes jersey(s), shorts, practice pinnies (if directed by the coach), and team bag. If a player loses his uniform, it will be their responsibility to purchase a new one. 
  • Off-Season - Players are strongly encouraged to participate in off-season practices, workouts, tournaments, and events. This builds team bonds, skills, and benefits the overall program. 
  • Captains - Captains play a vital role on a team and are expected to set a positive example. Captains must demonstrate hard work, dedication, positive attitude, inclusiveness, and overall respect and pride towards teammates, coaches, and program.
  • Absolutely no alcohol, smokeless tobacco, drug, or vaping use at any time at any Palisades Lacrosse function.
  • Respect the privilege of the use of all facilities, whether at PCHS or another.
  • Help parents and fans understand lacrosse so they can watch and enjoy the game.
  • Practice hard, play hard, have fun, and strive to do your best regardless of the score or the behavior of opponents and fans.
  • All players must help with field set up and take down prior to and after games and after practice. It is expected that all players help prepare the field prior to practice to best utilize the allotted time. Ball hunting at the end of practice will be expected by everyone. 
  • If an infraction occurs with any points within this agreement, the coaches may refer the student-athlete to the Athletic Director and School Administrator for further disciplinary action that may include but not limited to, suspension or dismissal from the program.
  • Disciplinary action may include but not limited to, suspension or removal from the program for repeated missed practices, disrespectful attitudes, or conduct detrimental to the program.

Playing Time Policy

Playing time is not guaranteed or given to any player regardless of grade, experience, or skill level. All questions or concerns regarding playing time should be discussed during or outside of practice, not during a game. Playing time discussions are between the coach and the player only. Being able to communicate effectively with adults is part of growing as a young student-athlete.


Academic Policy

Academics are a priority and it is important that our student-athletes manage their time between academics and lacrosse. Athletes are expected to maintain the academic standards in line with rules of Palisades Charter High School. Please schedule appointments, study sessions, group projects, tutors, etc. outside scheduled practices, games, and team events.


Travel Policy

Players are expected to ride back with the team on the bus. Bus rides are a team activity. Parents should talk to the head coach about any circumstances, well in advance, before the bus leaves. Parents must provide a note that releases them from the team that is signed and dated. Each player must make sure that the bus is cleaned before they get off. This is not the job of the bus driver.
