On Avenue there are currently about 1400 teachers, who together teach about 30,000 students. Most of those are LINC instructors, working with learners in a LINC program, while a smaller number participates in an employment training program.
The top three needs of newcomers to Canada are: receiving Information & guidance, learning the language, and finding employment.
In this webinar, Marijke Geurts LearnIT2teach mentor/developer and TBLV lead will explore how Avenue could be used in an IRCC funded CLB 4-8 Employment Language Training Program. Marijke will also look at how you can use resources such as the binder and the available courseware to increase the focus on Working in Canada, in the context of LINC themes, so that your students will benefit by learning English and becoming work ready at the same time.
In this workshop, we will:
- look at the LINC themes through an Employment Lens
- review a possible 8-week Employment Training curriculum with resources on Avenue
- discuss how an Employment Training Program could support PBLA
Please join us on December 13th at 3 pm AT/2 pm ET to learn more about ‘Using Avenue in Employment Training’
