2024-2025 SEPAC Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for considering getting involved this school year! We are actively seeking individuals for the following roles:

Survey subcommittee
The SEPAC annual survey is one of our most powerful and visible tools for capturing feedback from the APS community. Members of this subcommittee will help advertise the survey and brainstorm ways to reach a wider audience. Members will also help analyze the results and plan the final report and presentation to the school committee. Experience with research and data analysis is helpful, but not necessary. Creativity and a commitment to confidentiality and transparency is required. The survey will be refined and prepared beginning in the fall, and dissemination in early 2025. Analysis and data preparation for dissemination will take place during the second half of the school year, and will conclude prior to summer break.

Speaker subcommittee
Members of this subcommittee will help identify both topics of interest and potential guest speakers for future SEPAC meetings. Subcommittee members will work together to generate ideas and follow-up on suggestions made by others during SEPAC meetings or in other informal settings (e.g., Facebook or a happenstance conversation at the grocery store). Subcommittee members will take initiative, in consultation with the SEPAC Board members, to facilitate scheduling, contracts, and payment of fees of speakers (if necessary). They will also identify opportunities presented by neighboring communities' SEPAC to advertise to the APS community. Much of this committee’s work will take place during the beginning of the school year to allow for advance planning of educational opportunities. However, this work can be ongoing and the SEPAC board will provide administrative and logistical support year-round.

School liaisons

We are currently looking for individuals to serve as liaisons at each of the schools in APS, as well as to the out-of-district placement and home school communities. The role of the SEPAC liaison is to represent the SEPAC at various events, help connect parents to the resources SEPAC offers, stay abreast of school happenings, and share information about their school to the SEPAC Board.

Serving as a School Liaison is a great way to help your community with just a few hours of your time.
