On this half-day retreat, we will walk together along part of the Pilgrim path. The journey will include meditation and intention setting, a breathwalk walking meditation practice, a period of silent walking for reflection and deep listening, and a mindful rest towards the end. We will make a stop at a forest cafe where refreshments such as waffles and sandwiches are available for purchase.

Part of the walk is rocky trail and part is a wide flat road in the forest. The path is not so steep and there isn't a whole lot of elevation. The distance walked is approximately 6km. The entire journey will take approximately 4.5-5 hours. We are happy to share one of our favorite sections of the pilgrim path with you!

We offer this day as an opportunity for you to find grounding, peace, connection, and revitalization. Reconnect with nature and yourself to become more in tune with your inner being and the natural world around you. This experience will help downregulate your nervous system, promoting calm and clarity. Amidst the chaos of the world, it's easy to forget that beauty always exists; we just need to open our eyes to it. Embrace this chance to rediscover the beauty and resilience both within yourself and in the world around you.

About Breathwalk

Breathwalk is a wellness practice combining walking with specific breathing patterns and mindfulness, rooted in Kundalini yoga. It aims to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being by synchronizing breath control with paced walking and sensory awareness. This holistic approach improves cardiovascular health, reduces stress, boosts energy, and promotes calm and clarity, making it an accessible way to incorporate mindful exercise into daily life.

About Forest Bathing

Forest bathing, known as "shinrin-yoku" in Japanese, is a practice that involves immersing oneself in the natural environment of a forest to enhance physical and mental well-being. This therapeutic activity, which can include walking, meditating, and simply being present among the trees, has been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost mood, and improve overall health. By engaging the senses and fostering a deep connection with nature, shinrin-yoku offers a rejuvenating escape from the pressures of modern life, promoting relaxation and mindfulness through the healing power of the forest.

About the Pilgrim Paths/Pilegrimsleden

The Pilegrimsleden is a network of pilgrimage routes leading to the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. A pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred site for spiritual growth, personal insight, and a deeper connection with the world. Rooted in medieval traditions, pilgrimages saw a revival in the late 20th century. Today, modern pilgrims walk these ancient paths seeking spiritual insight, inner peace, and a connection with nature and history. The Pilegrimsleden routes offer a profound journey through Norway's stunning landscapes and rich heritage, inviting exploration of both the outer world and the inner self.
