Beck Theatre Summer Youth Project 2026 Application Form

Mon 10 - Sat 22 August 2026

Our Summer Youth Project (SYP) is a masterclass for young people aged 9-19 where you can work in a professional theatre under the supervision of a highly skilled creative team! We inspire children that may not have access to theatre and provides a crucial artistic outlet for them during the summer holidays whilst being self-funding and non-profit making. The ethos behind it has always been to provide the best possible experience and training at the lowest possible cost to the local young people who get involved.

DATES

(Bank holiday)

Mon 10 - Sat 15 Aug (Rehearsals)

Performances:
Thu 20 Aug, 7:30pm
Fri 21 Aug, 2:30pm & 7:30pm

Due to the tight turnaround of this project, you MUST be available for all of the dates above to be considered.

COST
The cost per participant is £200 for the two week masterclass, and this must be paid in full by Friday 26 June 2026. We are able to take split payments for this fee, providing it is all paid in full by the deadline.

Subsidised places and bursaries may be available through Hillingdon's Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF). If this applies to you, please indicate this in the application form below

AUDITIONS
Successful applicants will be invited to audition. We'll share more details of how this will run nearer the time, but it will likely be that we'll either invite you:

- Sing one of the character songs and act one of the scenes
- Dance a section of one of the routines, which will be taught to you on the day

We will ask for a £5 deposit to be paid to secure your place. If successful, this will be used towards your fee payment. If unsuccessful, this will be refunded back to you. We will call you to take this payment over the phone. The deposit is non-refundable if you fail to attend your audition.

STAGE MANAGEMENT PLACEMENTS
There are also opportunities for those aged between 16 - 19 to learn about the technical side of theatre. Through this, you will learn about props, stage management and followspotting.

If you would like to be considered, please complete this form and indicate what strand you're most excited to be a part of. You will then be invited to an interview instead of an audition.

For all rehearsal and performances, we must have licensed chaperones to supervise and ensure the safety and welfare of all our participants. To enable us to keep the cost of the fees down, we ask that every participant puts forward at least one adult who will be able to chaperone for at least two shifts during the two weeks.

To obtain your license, an application needs to go through to your local authority, the details of which can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/chaperones-child-performers

If you already have a chaperone license, please complete the section below with your details.
