Description: In this five-part webinar series, Mr. McArdle will cover the many aspects of Special Education from efforts prior to referral (RtI and MTSS) to the Team meeting, the newly developed IEP, writing measurable goals and objectives, Inclusive services, executive functioning, providing a full continuum of services and dispute resolution. He will address all the basics of the referral process, the various disabilities, the difference between special education and 504 plans, the importance of collaboration, cultural and linguistic considerations, decision making and having the difficult conversation. He will also review the role that general education teachers, special education teachers, related service providers, administrators and parents have once a student has been referred for special education consideration. Participants will leave this series understanding the complexities of identifying and servicing eligible students and what both the state and federal government require.
